			April 25, 2009 Fields MathEd Forum Meeting Agenda 25 April 2009, 10 am - 2 pm Fields Institute, 222 College Street, Toronto 1. Reports: OAME, OMCA, OCMA, CMESG, and others 2. Announcements, updates 3. Theme: “Connecting Research, Policy, and Practice in Mathematics Education: Challenges and Successes" [Joyce Mgombelo, Chris Suurtamm] This session will discuss the U.S. National Mathematics Advisory Panel Report and the reaction of the mathematics educational research community to the report. There will also be a panel discussion of the connections between research, policy, and practice in the Ontario context. Attendees may wish to read about the report at http://www.ed.gov/about/bdscomm/list/mathpanel/index.html The discussion of the research community reaction will be drawn from Volume 37, Issue number 9 of the journal Educational Researcher. (This may be obtained electronically through a university library website for those who have a university affiliation.) A light lunch will be served around 12 noon.
