OVERVIEW
This workshop, Harmonic Analysis: A Retrospective, is a follow
up on the Fields Institute Winter/Spring
2008 thematic program “New Trends in Harmonic Analysis".
The program was organized by Izabella Laba (UBC; program chair),
Alex Iosevich (University of Missouri - Columbia), Michael Lacey
(Georgia Institute of Technology), and Eric Sawyer (McMaster University)
The purpose of the workshop will be to review the long-term impact
of the program and bring together the participants whose work at
the program has led to significant progress in the field. The workshop
will reprise many of the themes of the program, including Kakeya-restriction
type problems, Fourier multipliers and Fourier integral operators,
connections to geometric measure theory, function spaces and operator
theory, discrete harmonic analysis and its connections to number
theory and additive combinatorics.
