                    of Guelph
Zoonotic diseases are diseases that are transmitted
                    between humans and animals

Zoonotic diseases account for over half of all communicable
diseases causing illness in humans and approximately 75%
of new emerging diseases. As limited resources are usually
available for the control and prevention of zoonotic diseases,
it becomes necessary to prioritize diseases in order to
direct resources into those with the greatest needs. While
there is general consensus for the need to prioritize zoonotic
diseases, there are numerous challenges in the process of
prioritization. This talk will present on the use of Conjoint
Analysis to overcome the limitations in traditional prioritization
methodologies and the results from a study involving over
3,000 participants across Canada and the US.
