This is the sixth Statistics workshop at the University of Manitoba.
The first was held in July 2000 and hosted over 10 speakers from
Canada and abroad. The second workshop was held in July 2001 and
hosted over 15 speakers from around the world. The third workshop
was held in July 2002 and hosted 7 speakers from Canada and abroad
and was attended by over 30 faculty members and graduate students.
The fourth was held in 2004 and was jointly hosted by the Department
of Community Health Sciences. The fifth workshop, in conjunction
of retirement of Dr. James Fu, was held in 2009.
One of the goals of this workshop series is to encourage research
collaboration. The proposed workshop will also highlight some new
developments in both theoretical and applied research, with applications
in areas such as health, engineering, social and environmental science
