OVERVIEW
            This one-week meeting will focused on new methods and directions
              of research in number theory and aimed at both junior and senior
              researchers in the field.
            The meeting will focus on several aspects of number theory, as
              follows:
              1. the theory of sieve methods;
              2. the theory of L-functions;
              3. the theory of abelian varieties;
              4. the theory of automorphic forms;
              5. the theory of transcendental numbers.

            The specific objectives of the meeting are:

              - to introduce junior participants (graduate students and fresh
                PhDs) to active research areas and new research techniques in
                the eld of number theory;

              - to engage junior participants and experienced researchers in
                meaningful mentoring relationships, aimed at fostering research
                of highest quality;

              - to disseminate recent discoveries in the eld of number theory
                to a large and diverse audience from different branches of the
                field;

              - to inspire and stimulate research advances on major open problems
                in number theory.
                In the five topics described above, the work of Ram Murty has
                been substantial and influential. The conference will also aims
                at honoring his many contributions to the field of analytic number
                theory.
