Overview

Welcome to the home page of the Pre-meeting for New Researchers to the World Congress of Probability and Statistics. This event is hosted at the Fields Institute on the 7th and 8th of July 2016, precedeeding the Bernoulli World Congress of Probability and Statistics. This pre-meeting is the second of its kind, with the first preceding the Bernoulli-ISI World Congress in Istanbul (2012).

The two-day 2016 pre-meeting dedicates one day to the academic theme of Big Data: Statistical, Computational and Mathematical Issues. The second day is dedicated to a series of presentations that pertain to career development.

The objectives of the pre-meeting in 2016 are:

    1. To stimulate interest of international young researchers in a rapidly emerging field.
    2. To give support and perspective to young researchers with regard to mapping out their future career - especially for participants from developing countries.
    3. To allow young researchers with common research interests to network amongst their peer group.
