Fields Academy
Fields Academy brings together the Institute's programs in mathematical training and education, spanning from elementary classrooms to postgraduate specialization. Established in 2020, the Academy extends the Institute's work beyond research collaboration into the preparation of mathematicians and quantitative specialists at each stage of their education. Its programs are developed and delivered under the same academic standards that govern the rest of the Institute's activity, and each is built for a distinct audience.
Shared Graduate Courses Program
The Shared Graduate Courses Program offers specialized graduate mathematics courses across Ontario's universities, giving students access to courses their home department doesn't offer.
FUSRP
The Fields Undergraduate Summer Research Program (FUSRP) places undergraduates in nine-week collaborative research teams under faculty and industry supervision, drawing a competitive pool of applicants from more than twenty-five countries.
Fields Quantitative Information Security Specialist Program
The Fields Quantitative Information Security Specialist Program trains mathematicians, statisticians, physicists and engineers for careers in cybersecurity, pairing rigorous technical instruction with applied projects developed alongside industry partners.
Math Elementary Educator Program
The Fields Academy Math Elementary Educator Program offers self-paced online courses that strengthen the mathematical knowledge of practising and prospective elementary teachers. The program was developed by an Ontario-certified teacher with a doctorate in math education. Each course runs 10 to 20 hours with no fixed deadline and focuses on the mathematics itself rather than on pedagogy.
Math Proficiency Test Preparation Course (MPT Prep)
Intended for teacher candidates who are planning to write the Math Proficiency Test (MPT) in Ontario. It is designed to hone math skills and increase confidence with mathematics.
