Canadian Workshop on Information Theory, 2022
Description
A remarkable paper by Claude Shannon published in 1948, which introduced the modern and meaningful way of thinking about communication of information, had a formidable impact on technology and on the emergence of the information era. At the same time, it spawned the IEEE Information Theory Society and the Canadian Society of Information Theory that have carried the torch of Shannon's ideas and continues to push the frontiers of the fundamental foundations of general communication theory and technology. The Canadian Workshop on Information Theory (CWIT) is one of the flagship biennial research conference of Information theory in Canada.
CWIT has taken place every odd-numbered year since 1987. Its main goal is to foster the interaction between Canadian established researchers, early career researchers and graduate students. CWIT offers the graduate students the opportunity to presents their work to a broader audience, exercise and improve their communications skills, and build a research network. The early and established researchers benefit from the opportunity to meet their Canadian peers and graduate students. Overall, all participants have the chance of enlarging their research network and exchanging research ideas.
CWIT 2022 is the 17th edition of this workshop. The workshop will present new research results in the form of regular papers in fields related to information theory, such as:
• Shannon Theory
• Big Data Analytics
• Multiuser Information Theory
• Quantum Information Processing
• Coding Theory and Practice
• Coded Modulation
• Data Compression and Source Coding
