Math + Coding Symposium
Learning, making & performing math relationships with code
June 19 - 21, 2015, Western University
Description
This page is a stub. Please visit the full event page here.
The Symposium will explore the recent and quickly evolving focus on coding for young students, and its connection to mathematics. We are specifically interested in exploring four areas of the mathematics-coding relationship:
Coding as a way of modelling mathematics relationships
Mathematics learning as a route to computational thinking
Coding and digital making as tools for students performing and transporting mathematics ideas beyond classrooms
The design of low floor, high ceiling, wide walls mathematics + coding learning experiences
We can offer some support (up to $500) for up to 6 graduate students and postdocs.
