India has 700,000 villages which are deprived of even basic technologies. Gandhi famously said go back to the villages. President Kalam in his address in our campus said start Sona PURA Proving urban amenities to rural areas. This has led us to work with villages in India and try to solve the real world problems. Woman Technology Park WTP is Sona Project funded by Govt of India Department of Sciences and Technology. Here we provide women, technology solutions to engage them in the villages. As the unemployment of rural woman is very high. We have solutions like non solar solar dryers, making paver blocks from steel slag, making art paper from paper waste, nano coating, helping differently able woman be employable using a simple modification in sweeping machines. The WTP addresses food waste, waste to wealth concepts.

Sona produces most of India Rocket motors. We have taken the same brushless slotless DC motors and used them in small wind mills, reducing the cost. We have twinned the homes to be solar of wind and made the homes fully DC. And we are in the process of making a village fully off grid.
