Abstract:
We introduce quivers and their representations, and define Nakajima quiver varieties. To do so, we will develop basic notions about affine algebro-geometric and GIT quotients, as well as definitions of semistability. We will conclude with some basic properties of Nakajima varieties. The exposition in Maulik-Okounkov will be supplemented with some concrete examples from notes by Nakajima and Ginzburg.
