Abstract:
We will begin by reviewing the aims of the "Smart Villages" project and the progress made to date. We will then focus on innovation and inequality as two factors that play an important role in development. In previous talks, we have tried to propose that a community is "smart" when we are able to minimize static social inequality. We will discuss this in more detail and also the role that innovation might play in alleviating inequality.
