Steenrod algebra, Dickson invariants and the automorphism groups of the additive group law

Abstract:
We consider the Steenrod algebra as an algebraic group and give a relation with the group of automorphisms of the additve group law. We then give a proof of the Milnor’s theorem on the structure of the dual Steenrod algebra without using the explicit Adem relation.
