Abstract:
The presentation reviews the core elements of an evolutionary theory of cities villages. It first discusses what a theory of urban evolution might be, and then presents our approach to such a theory. Central to the theory is an entity we call “the formeme.” This concept, enables a fundamental advance in urban theory, as it lays the basis for the very possibility of an evolutionary theory of cities and villages.
