We give a survey of results and open problems involving the combinatorics of Macdonald polynomials, bi-graded characters, and knot invariants. Specifically, we discuss combinatorical results about the character of the space of diagonal harmonics, and how it connects to the study of the superpolynomial knot invariant for torus knots.
