The department of Statistics and Actuarial Science at the University of Waterloo, with support from the Fields Institute, is hosting a conference to celebrate the International Year of Statistics and the launch of the Canadian Statistical Sciences Institute (CANSSI). The conference is intended to review recent advances in core areas of the statistical sciences, highlight important areas of application, and identify pressing problems requiring further research. The themes of the conference are modeling risk, modeling dependence, exploring complex models, statistics in health, social networks and statistical learning.
