Abstract:
We will survey the asymptotic behavior of Ricci flow solutions as they develop and then recover from finite-time singularities. The post-singularity forward evolutions are independent of surgery choices and thus may be regarded as recoveries from "scale-zero" surgeries. We will describe some of the methods used to obtain these results, especially when those techniques may have broader applications.
