Abstract:
The Narasimhan-Seshadri correspondence on a Riemann surface associates a flat connection to each semistable connection. I will describe this correspondence and how it behaves under conic degeneration of the Riemann surface. As an application, I will discuss how this produces a map from the space of instantons to a space of holomorphic curves with certain singularities on the boundary.
