Dr. Youmans is passionate about equipping educators with the skills, knowledge, attitudes, and resources needed to support learner success. Her areas of research expertise include elementary mathematics education, the early years, professional development, program evaluation, and collaborative inquiry. She is a founding member of the Assessment and Instruction for Mathematics (AIM) Collective, a network of researchers and educators across Canada committed to improving elementary mathematics teaching and learning. She is co-editor of the book, Beyond 1, 2, 3: Strengthening early mathematics education (Canadian Scholars), and co-creator of the Coalition Model for Professional Development.
