The talk will describe why a sharing of advanced scientific technology today demands effort on our part to bridge cultural distances by consciously promoting cross-cultural conversation. While treating cultural diversity as a resource, it will be argued that we need to foster a sense of a larger identity in order to adequately deal with our multiple social identities cutting across nationality, ethnicity, race, gender and other forms of group-formations in a variety of social contexts.
