Abstract:
I will begin this talk with a quick introduction to representation-theoretic dualities and their applications to understanding the representation theory of the symmetric group. Then I will specialize to a situation studied by Nate Harman and me where Kronecker coefficients appear in the representation theory of the general linear group, giving rise to natural combinatorial objects called bitableaux. Finally, I will discuss our attempts to put crystal structures on these bitableaux.
