Abstract:
A Golod complex is defined by an algebraic property of its Stanley-Reisner ring, and a tight complex is a combinatorial analogue of a manifold tightly embedded in Euclidean space. These two complexes have been studied in different contexts, but recent results on polyhedral products suggest a possible connection between them. I will present that Golodness and tightness are, in fact, equivalent for manifold triangulations.
