Instabiity of solitons in KdV and ZK equations

Abstract:
We revisit the instability of solitons in the critical generalized Korteweg-de Vries (gKdV) equation, and investigate a similar phenomenon in the Zakharov-Kuznetsov (ZK) equation, a higher dimensional generalizations of the gKdV equation.
