Abstract:
This talk will be a survey of how the concept of simplicial
collapsing from combinatorial topology can be used to produce
componentwise linear ideals, to the point that it can
characterize all Betti tables of componentwise linear
ideals. This will be presented in the context of research on
higher dimensional chordality, and combinatorial ways to
characterize monomial ideals with linear resolution.
