The lectures will give an overview over the theory for frames and Riesz bases in separable Hilbert spaces. Special attention will be given to the relationships between these two concepts and duality issues. Concrete cases of frames (Gabor frames and wavelet frames) will be considered in the setting of the Hilbert space $L^2(R).$ If time permits we will discuss connections between frame theory and the very active research field dynamical sampling.
