Abstract:
Octonion algebras are non-associative algebras endowed with a non-degenerate multiplicative quadratic form called the norm.
We shall revisit the Cayley-Dickson (resp. Jacobson) construction of octonion algebras over rings and discuss the norm equivalence problem over local rings (Bix's theorem).
