I will introduce the theory of quantitative K-theory and K-homology and discuss their applications to the universal coefficient theorem in C*-algebra theory (joint work with Rufus Willett). If time permits, I will also explain the connections of quantitative K-theory to asymptotic behavior of scalar curvature (joint work with Hao Guo, Zhizhang Xie, and Jinmin Wang).
