Randomness and the Riemann Hypothesis: The story of a book.
I will discuss a project which resulted in the book "Randomness and the Riemann Hypothesis: Probability, Statistics, and the Primes" by Andrey Feuerverger and Greg Martin, AMS, 2026. It is an unusual feature of this book that it is neither a textbook nor a monograph, although it does require at least some background in mathematics to be able to access. As its title suggests, the book is an exploration of the interplay between the ideas of probability and statistics with probabilistic and analytic number theory.
This talk is not aimed at number theory specialists but rather at a general mathematical audience.
