A projective polytope comes equipped with a remarkable rational top form with simple poles along the boundary of the polytope. I will explain some properties and constructions of this canonical form. I will then discuss a conjectural extension of this differential form to polytopes inside Grassmannians, which is motivated by recent work in physics.
