Abstract:
We give an overview of the work of Ramanujan, the joint work with Hardy, and the work of Hardy and Littlewood with a special emphasis on what is now known as the Hardy-Littlewood method. We also give some historical insights into the Goldbach conjecures and Waring's Problem.
